description Actualmente, debido a la alta competitividad industrial, para que las PYMES del sector de alimentos balanceados se mantengan a flote, es fundamental minimizar sus costos. Para ello, deben ser capaces de mejorar la eficiencia de sus procesos productivos, objetivo alcanzable desde la reducción de residuos. Esta investigación abordará esta problemática con un nuevo modelo compuesto por 4 herramientas: SLP, 5S, TPM y Trabajo Estándar; y la validación de este, mediante una prueba piloto de 5S y el uso del simulador Arena para validar todas las herramientas en conjunto. El uso de las herramientas permitió mejorar cada uno de los indicadores propuestos para solucionar todas las causas raíz, logrando la mayoría de los objetivos planteados en el caso de estudio. Finalmente, luego de realizar este estudio, se concluyó que la combinación de las herramientas SLP y Lean Manufacturing permiten reducir la cantidad de desperdicio por debajo del estándar de la industria, disminuyendo alrededor de 1.7%.

Finalmente, luego de realizar este estudio, se concluyó que la combinación de las herramientas SLP y Lean Manufacturing permiten reducir la cantidad de desperdicio por debajo del estándar de la industria, disminuyendo alrededor de 1.7%.Currently, due to the high industrial competitiveness, for the SME in the balanced food sector to stay afloat, it is essential to minimize their costs. To do this, they must be able to improve the efficiency of their production processes, an achievable goal from the reduction of waste. This research will abroad this problem with a new model composed of 4 tools: SLP, 5S, TPM and Standard Work; and the validation of this, through a pilot test for 5S and the use of the Arena simulator to validate all the tools together. In this way, the use of the tools made it possible to improve each of the proposed indicators to solve all the root causes, achieving most of the objectives that were set out in the case study.
