| Sumario: | This research is based on the analysis of the cultural manifestations of a community of Spanish-speakers gathered on the platform called “Los Suecañoles” with the aim of learning Swedish and migrating or settling in Sweden. The group was founded in 2016 and its main communication channels are Facebook and WhatsApp. The research finds that besides learning the language, users exchange a series of information and experiences about their countries of origin, establishing an intercultural network of communication. The methodology used was of qualitative character with an exploratory-descriptive type. In-depth interviews were conducted that included criteria on intercultural competences based on chapter 5 of the document "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching and Assessment" of the European Council (2001). The research highlights the importance of intercultural communication through the development of intercultural skills which are advantageous for learning a foreign language and for the development of our capabilities as global citizens. |
