According to our research, the trend of consumption of this type of potato is constantly growing, which will be a problem for Peruvian farmers in the long term, because national production would be being replaced by imports. In recent years, the import of frozen pre-fried potatoes increased from US $ 8,3 million in 2013 to US $ 23,8 in 2017. The company that leads the import of this potato is Alicorp, this company just entered to this business in 2011 and already sold US $ 11 million in 2017 and since its entry inside this sector, the import volume has increased considerably.
