This research demonstrated the relevance of systematic maintenance strategies in aligning operational activities with organizational goals, fostering efficiency and sustainability. By addressing specific gaps in existing maintenance practices, the study provided a replicable framework applicable across similar contexts, offering actionable insights for enhancing operational metrics in resource-constrained environments. It significantly contributed to bridging knowledge gaps in maintenance management for SMEs, particularly in the transport sector. Future investigations should explore integrating advanced digital tools, such as IoT-based monitoring systems, to expand predictive maintenance capabilities. Moreover, cross-sectoral comparative analyses could enrich understanding of the model’s adaptability and limitations. This research sets the groundwork for ongoing advancements in SME maintenance management.

Se identificaron desafíos como las bajas tasas de entregas a tiempo y completas (OTIF) y los altos índices de fallas en los equipos, los cuales impactaban significativamente la calidad del servicio. La investigación propuso un modelo de mantenimiento unificado que integra principios de Mantenimiento Productivo Total (TPM) y Gestión de Procesos, con énfasis en estrategias de mantenimiento planificado y autónomo. Los hallazgos clave revelaron mejoras cuantificables: la tasa OTIF aumentó en un 7.24%, los casos de escasez de combustible se redujeron en un 50%, y los índices de carga dañada disminuyeron en un 23.20%. Estos resultados resaltan el potencial del modelo para mejorar la utilización de recursos y la confiabilidad del servicio. La investigación demostró la relevancia de las estrategias de mantenimiento sistemático para alinear las actividades operativas con los objetivos organizacionales, fomentando la eficiencia y la sostenibilidad. Al abordar vacíos específicos en las prácticas actuales de mantenimiento, el estudio proporcionó un marco replicable aplicable en contextos similares, ofreciendo recomendaciones prácticas para mejorar los indicadores operativos en entornos con recursos limitados.
