Esta investigación se ha dividido en 3 capítulos. En el primero y el tercero se analiza desde un punto de vista político lo que fue en Manuel González Prada la evolución de su pensamiento, la fijación de sus posiciones en temas claves y la influencia en discípulos posteriores, mientras que en el segundo capítulo se analiza desde un punto de vista estrictamente jurídico la importancia que tuvo la Constitución de 1860 en la vida de González Prada.
