However, despite its vast importance and application, some important aspects of big data remain the subject of debate. One of the most sensitive and worrisome issues for big data is the privacy of personal information. The purpose of this paper is to explore how the major theories of philosophical ethics may be used as a referential framework for conceptualizing the evolution of the concept of privacy of personal information in the big data era. We identify a gap in big data research and suggest that while privacy has been extensively explored in different settings, it has not been sufficiently studied relative to the social and technological changes in the big data era. We attempt to fill this gap by proposing that the study of privacy be closely tied to the evolution of the social structure.engCENTRUM PublishingPEinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/pe/Big dataData analyticsInformation privacyEthicsHuman rightshttp://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#5.02.04The Right To Be Forgotten – Is Privacy Sold Out in the Big Data Age?info:eu-repo/semantics/workingPaperDocumento de trabajoreponame:PUCP-Institucionalinstname:Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perúinstacron:PUCPORIGINALCERES_WP2014-02-0006.pdfCERES_WP2014-02-0006.pdfTexto completoapplication/pdf476433https://repositorio.pucp.edu.pe/bitstreams/f05db63c-19d2-480a-a82e-f543b50b2393/download517d4553316e056b3f8bd7034f5ee597MD51trueAnonymousREADTHUMBNAILCERES_WP2014-02-0006.pdf.jpgCERES_WP2014-02-0006.pdf.jpgIM Thumbnailimage/jpeg18998https://repositorio.pucp.edu.pe/bitstreams/0616e1b9-d362-4751-82b5-b05f9b966c5b/download695701c2ce0751604d7cf91de50a11eaMD52falseAnonymousREADTEXTCERES_WP2014-02-0006.pdf.txtCERES_WP2014-02-0006.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain49389https://repositorio.pucp.edu.pe/bitstreams/ccde4973-47c8-4f08-acae-e0ac1a52dab8/download5650e6cc4159d46c31be1115b3f2a8cfMD53falseAnonymousREAD20.500.14657/166787oai:repositorio.pucp.edu.pe:20.500.14657/1667872025-03-25 23:37:18.584https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/pe/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessopen.accesshttps://repositorio.pucp.edu.peRepositorio Institucional de la PUCPrepositorio@pucp.pe
