Based on them, it is possible to generate advances in different sciences, such as medicine and other technologies. However, there is a latent risk of illicit appropriation of this type of knowledge in order to block communities’ access to their own intellectual production (inherent to them). In that sense, the present academic work will focus on studying the way in which the protection of TK is proposed in Peru, analyzing its effectiveness and deficiencies. Likewise, new measures will be proposed for the purpose of complementing and improving the system.El Perú es un país diverso, y en el marco de esta diversidad se encuentran los conocimientos tradicionales (CT’s). Los CT’s son un producto intelectual y forman parte de la identidad (cultura y valores) y el desarrollo sostenible de las comunidades indígenas. En base a ellos es que se han podido generar avances en distintas ciencias, como la medicina y otras tecnologías. Sin embargo, existe un latente riesgo de apropiación ilícita de este tipo de conocimientos para bloquear a las comunidades de su acceso, cuando en realidad es inherente a ellas. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo académico se enfocará en estudiar la forma en la que se plantea la protección de CT’s en nuestro país, analizando su efectividad y deficiencias.
