Sumario:This paper presents a reflection and proposal on the opportunity to recover the study of the image of letters in the Primary School Teacher Training. Theoretical references are discussed, the historical perspective is studied, and the used methodology is eminently qualitative, incorporating Arts-Based Research. The objective is to analyze what typography can promote the cultural awareness of teachers. A study carried out in the degree classrooms of the Universitat de València is described. The results reveal that there is great potential in the use of typography among future teachers, if we are able to recover the lost tradition of calligraphy as drawing, updating it according to the needs of the digital universe.
