Sin embargo, durante la formación del odontólogo general, se evidencian limitaciones en la comprensión de esta temática, lo que repercute en un bajo nivel de conocimiento en la población general. Objetivo: El presente estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar el nivel de conocimiento sobre implantes dentales en pacientes atendidos en el Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Materiales y métodos: Se llevará a cabo un estudio de tipo transversal, en la que se aplicará un cuestionario estructurado a 382 pacientes que acuden a dicha institución. El instrumento abordará aspectos relacionados con el concepto, el proceso quirúrgico-protésico y los cuidados postoperatorios de los implantes dentales. Conclusiones: Se espera que los resultados permitan identificar diferencias en el nivel de conocimiento según variables sociodemográficas, lo cual servirá de base para el diseño de estrategias informativas y educativas orientadas al paciente, favoreciendo una mejor toma de decisiones respecto al tratamiento implantológico.

However, during the training of general dentists, limitations in understanding this subject are evident, which results in a low level of knowledge among the general population.
