El manejo efectivo del síndrome urémico hemolítico implica abordar las complicaciones hematológicas que se presentan, y en este contexto, la aféresis emerge como una modalidad terapéutica fundamental. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de esta monografía es proporcionar una descripción detallada del síndrome urémico hemolítico y examinar la aféresis como una opción terapéutica viable, para lo cual se llevaron a cabo investigaciones exhaustivas para recopilar información actualizada sobre la aféresis y su capacidad para mitigar los efectos del síndrome urémico hemolítico, con el fin de mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes afectados por esta enfermedad. Los hallazgos de diversas investigaciones sugieren que la aféresis puede tener efectos beneficiosos en individuos con síndrome urémico hemolítico, lo que respalda la idea de que esta terapia podría ser una alternativa valiosa para quienes enfrentan esta enfermedad. Por lo tanto, se recomienda llevar a cabo una evaluación más profunda de la aféresis como un procedimiento que podría ofrecer beneficios significativos a las personas que padecen el síndrome urémico hemolítico. |

It is characterized by the presence of three distinctive symptoms: hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and acute renal damage. The effective management of hemolytic uremic syndrome involves addressing the hematological complications that arise, and in this context, apheresis emerges as a key therapeutic modality. Therefore, the aim of this monograph is to provide a detailed description of hemolytic uremic syndrome and examine apheresis as a viable therapeutic option. For this purpose, comprehensive research was conducted to gather updated information on apheresis and its ability to mitigate the effects of hemolytic uremic syndrome, in order to improve the quality of life of patients affected by this disease. Findings from various studies suggest that apheresis may have beneficial effects in individuals with hemolytic uremic syndrome, supporting the idea that this therapy could be a valuable alternative for those facing this disease.
