Métodos: Se realizará un estudio descriptivo, transversal y prospectivo que incluirá a todos los donantes voluntarios habituales del Banco de Sangre del Hospital Regional Lambayeque entre los meses de enero a marzo del 2024. Todos serán donantes voluntarios potenciales, los cuales serán informados sobre el propósito del estudio, obteniéndose un consentimiento informado. La selección es no probabilística por conveniencia conforme lleguen los posibles donantes. Si el individuo no acepta, se intenta con el siguiente donante y así sucesivamente. El análisis se realizará con base en el cálculo de la frecuencia global y especifica por sexo y número de donaciones, con sus respectivos intervalos de confianza, todos los datos se almacenarán y analizarán en Excel y SPSS 20.0 (StatiticalPackageforthe Social Sciencies).

Previous studies report a great divergence in the frequency of iron deficiency in this population (1% to 62%) Objectives: The objective of the work is to determine iron levels in blood donors pre and post donation, according to sex, age, number of donations and the correlation with hemoglobin levels. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective study will be carried out that will include all regular voluntary donors of the Blood Bank of the Lambayeque Regional Hospital between the months of January to March 2024. All will be potential voluntary donors, who will be informed about the purpose of the study, obtaining informed consent. The selection is non-probabilistic for convenience as potential donors arrive. If the individual does not accept, the next donor is tried and so on. The analysis will be carried out based on the calculation of the global frequency and specific frequency by sex and number of donations, with their respective confidence intervals.
