Results: 93.9% of students reported having presented stressing times during the course of the semester. Most of the responders presented a deficient perception of his emotions (71,9 %), whereas 41,5 % and 28 % should improve the understanding and regulation of their emotions, respectively. By analyzing the relationship between the frequency of the stressor agents, symptoms associated with stress and strategies of confrontation with the dimensions of EI, only relationship between symptoms and uObjetivo: Determinar el nivel de estrés académico e Inteligencia Emocional (IE), y la relación entre ambas variables en estudiantes de odontología. Material y método: Estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 82 alumnos de V ciclo de la Universidad de San Martín de Porres. El estrés académico fue medido mediante el Inventario SISCO, y la IE mediante el instrumento TMMS-24. La relación entre las variables se determinó mediante las pruebas ANOVA y Kruskall-Wallis. Resultados: El 93,9% de los estudiantes refirió haber presentado momentos estrés durante el transcurso del semestre. La mayor parte de la muestra presentó una percepción deficiente de sus emociones (71,9%), mientras que el 41,5% y el 28% deben mejorar respecto a la comprensión y la regulación de las mismas, respectivamente.
