Sumario: | Objectives: To determine the relationship between concern about contagion of COVD-19, Burnout and organizational commitment. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in 111 professors from the dental school of Universidad de San Martín de Porres, in Lima, Peru during the last part of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022. Psychometric instruments were used COVID-19 Fear Scale Inventory (FCV-9S), the MBI-HSS Maslach Burnout Inventory (Maslach and Meyer), as well as the Organizational Commitment Inventory (Meyer and Allen). Results: It was found that worry about contagion of COVID-19 was related to burnout in the emotional exhaustion and depersonalization dimensions (p≤0.009 and p≤0.004, respectively). In turn, burnout had an inverse relationship with organizational commitment (p≤0.002). Likewise, concern about contagion of COVID-19 is related to a low level of organizational commitment (p≤0.016). Additionally, concern about contagion of COVID-19 was low, a little more than a quarter of teachers (27.9%) showed signs of burnout, where emotional exhaustion occurred in 11.7%, depersonalization in 3.6%, and non-fulfillment in 12.6% of dentists; Finally, it was found that two thirds of the teachers were highly committed to their organization (66.7%). Conclusions: There is a relationship between concern about contagion of COVID-19, burnout and organizational commitment. |
