To address this, a qualitative research with a multivalent design was conducted with two experimental groups of 14- and 15-year-old adolescents. Cooperative methodology was implemented in the subject of Spanish Language and Literature, with the evaluation tools for the process being the classroom diaries of the student groups, the teacher's diary, and a student focus group. The data were collected during the 2021-2022 academic year at a school in Zaragoza, Spain. The study examines how students organize and manage their cooperative learning, the difficulties they encounter in this process, and the results obtained from an academic, social, and personal perspective. The research findings indicate that effective teamwork and communication are essential elements in the organization, while the difficulties faced are related to assistance, teamwork, and task complexity. The final outcome reveals increased autonomy and activation of learning in the students.El presente trabajo surge de la necesidad de responder a la pregunta que se plantea cuando en la práctica diaria los docentes se ven interpelados ante la realidad de un aula llena de adolescentes ,a veces poco interesados y bastante acostumbrados a tomar y tener un papel pasivo en su aprendizaje: ¿y la explicación del profesor? Para ello se lleva a cabo una investigación de corte cualitativo con un diseño multivalente de dos grupos experimentales entre adolescentes de 14 y 15 años. Se implementó la metodología cooperativa en la asignatura de Lengua y Literatura Castellana, siendo las herramientas de evaluación del proceso: los diarios de aula de los grupos de alumnos, el diario del profesor y un grupo focal de estudiantes. Los datos fueron obtenidos en el curso 2021-2022 en un colegio de Zaragoza (España). Se plantea la cuestión de cómo los alumnos organizan y gestionan su aprendizaje de forma cooperativa, qué dificultades se encuentran en este proceso y qué resultados se obtienen desde el punto de vista académico, social y personal. El resultado de la investigación señala como elementos primordiales en la organización el trabajar bien y la comunicación; en cuanto a las dificultades a las que se enfrentan se focalizan en la ayuda, el equipo y la complejidad de la tarea.
