| Sumario: | Objective: Describe, analyze and understand the experiences in caring for patients with COVID-19 of families in the urban area of the Pimentel District, 2022. Methods: Qualitative, with a descriptive approach. The study subjects were 15 relatives from the urban area of the Pimentel district, who had a relative diagnosed with COVID-19, the type of sampling was non-probabilistic and the sample was saturation and redundancy. Data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview, validated by expert judgment. The data were analyzed using thematic content analysis; and for its execution the use of ethical principles and scientific rigor was demonstrated. Results: Four categories emerged as results: feelings of the family member towards the person sick with COVID-19, care provided by the family to the patient with COVID-19, feeling the presence of God when caring for the patient with COVID-19 and receiving support from the health care staff. health in the care of patients with COVID-19. Conclusions: The experiences lived by the family members were full of feelings and daily care, always seeking the well-being of the patient and themselves, accompanying their family member during the process of their illness along with the help of the health professional. |
