description Objective: to interpret the meaning of being a critical patient due to covid-19 from the Heideggerian perspective: experiences of health workers. Lima-2020. Methodology: Hermeneutic phenomenological qualitative research. Sample: Six informants selected for convenience, inclusion criteria and snowball technique. The data was collected through an in-depth open virtual interview; which were transcribed in Word as they were manifested; validated by contrasting responses by the informants themselves. The analysis was carried out in two methodological moments: Vague and medium pre-analysis from which the units of meaning emanated, the second methodological moment hermeneutical analysis. Main Results: six propositions: I. Care as social co-responsibility. II. Fear of death and the meaning of life, III. Care/Self-care Vs. Physical distancing: Suffering and loneliness, IV. Conflicting feelings and emotional pain, V. Family support, solidarity and gratitude, VI. Post covid-19 body awareness. Overall Conclusion: the TSA at the beginning of the pandemic transited between love and fear, between authenticity and inauthenticity. Defeating covid-19, for some means having been left with sequelae that limit their quality of life, while for others it means pain in the soul and feelings of guilt.

Lima-2020.
