Sumario:A descriptive, cross-sectional field research was carried out in order to characterize eating habits in the children of the Children’s Circles of Good Living (CIBV) “Sumak Yachay” of the Reten Macalete, community, Ecuador in the period of august as of September 2012, the study determined by the difference in the incidence of anemia in only two infants (9.52%) of said center, whit respect to the other Children’s Circles of Good Living in this parish, in which this affections, from 57.8% to 92% in their infants. From a study population of 22 mothers of children from this center, an intentional sample of 20 was selected, requesting their informed consent to do so. The information was obtained by applying the survey of consumption by food groups of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador, adding the necessary questions for the profile of this research. The information was processed by percentage calculations and explained for your better understanding. The main results obtained were: the feeding of the children belonging to the Children’s Circle of Good Living “Sumak Yachay” of the Reten Macalete community, in its highest percentaje, is healthy, since they consume essential nutrients for the human organism such as: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, sugars, milk and their derivatives minerals and vitamins, properly combined, with frequencies and times of feeding that respond to a diet favorable to health. The water from which they are supplied is piped from natural sources and is chlorinated for consumption, favoring personal health.
