Guerrillas from the central mountains such as Ignacio Quispe Ninavilca, Isidoro Villar, José Antonio Manrique and Fray Bruno Terreros, a Franciscan priest who commanded a guerrilla in Jauja and later joined the liberating army, also act in different roles.En este ensayo, el autor hace una relectura de la obra de Sánchez, contextualizando históricamente la novela con sus principales protagonistas y acciones realizadas en pro de la independencia peruana. En esta obra sobresalen las figuras de Simón Bolívar, de Manuelita Sáenz, José de San Martín y José Antonio de Sucre.
