It suggests the general conditions that should guide a new search for peace and prosperity in today's improverished and agitated Third World.El trabajo expone los orígenes de la idea de desarrollo a comienzos de este siglo, y de las nociones norteamericanas de prosperidad. Analiza los fines y supuestos políticos de la doctrina aliada de paz y prosperidad durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, que vinculaban el desarrollo económico, la estabilidad política y la paz internacional. Presenta una serie de opiniones críticas de estas ideas, surgidas por la misma época den los Estados Unidos e Inglaterra, en particular aquéllas que atacaron los supuestos de la política norteamericana de ayuda al desarrollo.
