At the same time, the context and day to day experiencies of people in the Andes are the basis of metaphorical ways to build the understanding of the universe.Las lenguas quechua y aimara ofrecen claves para ingresar en el mundo simbólico conceptual andino. Algunas estructuras semánticas referidas al mundo y a la práctica social (pacha, yanantin, awqa, kuti, ayni, mink'a, mit'a) hacen transparentes algunos esquemas que organizan el universo andino: la coexistencia complementaria, la separación y el encuentro de contrarios, la inversión; la reciprocidad simétrica, asimétrica y recursiva.
