The purpose of the article is not to bring back past discussions but to contribute to the knowledge of the goals and consequences derived from the regimes of participation. It also tries to clarify the role of law and the State in the legislative process and the influence that the groups of power can have in the gestation of laws.El presente artículo contiene un recuento histórico de los debates generados en el país, en torno a la participación de los trabajadores. Toma como objeto de análisis la discusión producida a partir de la iniciativa o promulgación de normas legales que reconocen el derecho de los laborantes a participar en los beneficios y dirección de las empresas. Su propósito no se limita a desempolvar discusiones de otras épocas sino a contribuir al conocimiento de los objetivos y consecuencias buscados o derivados de los regímenes de participación videntes.
