The fishing right, which should strickly represent the resource rent payment done by the owner for the use of a public good, was fixed for ten years in this regime. This research estimates the resource rent for the industrial anchoveta fishery for 2011, which implies a maximum rent, and compares the situation under open access effort and under LMCE system. It will also discuss the fishing rights and private sector’s payments versus the actual rent found in this study.La implementación de los límites máximos de captura por embarcación (LMCE) en la pesquería de anchoveta del Perú en el año 2009 ha generado una serie de cambios en la gestión del sector pesquero. En este sistema, el derecho de pesca, que en estricto debe representar la renta del recurso que el armador tiene que pagar al Estado por el uso de un bien público, fue fijado por un plazo de diez años. La presente investigación aproxima la estimación de la renta del recurso para la pesquería industrial de la anchoveta para el año 2011, que implica una renta máxima, y compara la situación del esfuerzo en libre acceso y bajo los LMCE.
