Subsequently, 265 surveys were conducted as an instrument for assessing social perception, to determine the educational community's knowledge of noise, the consequences on their quality of life, etc. Subsequently, an environmental noise map was developed. As a result, the average values obtained ranged from 43.18 dBA to 69.25 dBA. In conclusion, no educational institution complies with international standards (35 dBA, according to WHO), five educational institutions exceed 50 dBA (ECA established for special protection zones), and people who are constantly exposed to high levels of noise present problems in class development, affecting their quality of life and health, such as constant headaches, irritation, stress and lack of concentration.La investigación tiene por objetivo evaluar el ruido ambiental en los alrededores de las instituciones educativas del cercado de Tacna y la percepción social que tiene la comunidad educativa sobre el ruido, para ello se comparó con la normativa nacional (Estándar de Calidad Ambiental) y la normativa internacional (Valores propuestos por la Organización Mundial de la Salud), en la metodología: se realizaron monitoreos en 13 instituciones educativas, en horario escolar, entre los meses de mayo, junio y julio. Posteriormente como instrumento de evaluación de la percepción social se realizaron 265 encuestas, para determinar el conocimiento de la comunidad educativa sobre ruido, las consecuencias en su calidad de vida, etc. Posteriormente se realizó la elaboración de un mapa de ruido ambiental. Como resultado, los valores promedio obtenidos oscilaban entre 43,18 dBA y 69,25 dBA.
