This article aims to reflect on the return to presential education and the challenges we must face to continue training dental professionals with academic excellence.Las medidas restrictivas para enfrentar la pandemia por el Covid 19, afectó el normal desarrollo de diversas actividades incluyendo a la educación superior, si bien la virtualización de los contenidos de los diferentes cursos fue una medida para dar continuidad a la educación, en el caso de las ciencias para la salud la práctica clínica en condiciones reales es imprescindible para que el estudiante pueda lograr las competencias que exige este tipo de carreras profesionales, por lo que el retorno a estas actividades constituye un gran desafío ya que las condiciones de este retorno son completamente diferentes a las condiciones antes de la pandemia.
