Multiple chemical sensitivity delusions: a case report

The most frequent delusional contents in schizophrenia are, over time and in different latitudes, those of persecution and grandiosity; however, diverse and new contents are incorporated into the delusional corpus, many times in the context of events and transformations related to the historical evolution of our civilization. The case of a patient with schizophrenia who presented delusions about the multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome is reported. This is a controversial health problem that is not yet fully accepted in Medicine, but that represents experiences of threat and harm from the current technological environment, and which, therefore, requires greater psychopathological and hermeneutical scrutiny.
