Descripción
Sumario:This article examines the relationship between social struggle and literary fiction in Manuel Scorza. The theme of the five novels that make up his cycle of La guerra silenciosa and the author’s perspective clearly place them within literature committed to social causes. When examining his novels, it becomes evident that the successful pairing between his fiction and social struggle is achieved through the use of certain resources, especially the osmosis that he achieves between fiction and reality. Scorza’s works shows the influence of two writers in his fictional handling, Gabriel García Márquez and Alejo Carpentier, whose imprint and differences in the work of the Peruvian writer are analyzed here.
