'1herefore: Using CIS, we evaluatcd [he sparial urban devclopmcnt berwccu 1993 and 2010 showing urban growth at a rarc of apprcximarcly 100%, which mcanx ehar each ycar is incrcasing by '5% arca, rhe cause of rhis mercase is duc to popularion growrh as " resulr of migrnrion. The arca of the ciry of Pucallpa has grown over rime, sysrcmarkally rcplacing rural land, natural and scmi-induding wcrlands, hajialcs, pipes - for co\'erage and urban land uses. In addirion, rhere has becn an imporrant process of fragmcnranon of arcas of high cnvironmcnral qualit}· of (he landscapc, locared wirhin and around werlands.El estudio está orientado a invesrigar el crecimiento urbano de la ciudad de Pucallpa (Yarinacoche, Callcrín y Manaray), mediante la aplicación de los Sistemas de lnformación Geográfica (SIG), para identificar las áreas óptimas con la finalidad de ordenar los espacios y el manejo adecuado del medio ambiente. Por ranro, mediante el SIC, se evaluó la evolución urbana espacial -emre 1')93)' 2010- que muestra un crecimiento urbano en un porcentaje aproximado a 100%, lo quc significa que cada año viene incrernenrdndosc S% de área; este incremento se debe ,,1aumente de la población por efecto de la migración. El área de la ciudad de Pucallpu ha crecido a través del tiempo, sustituyendo sisrcrnáricarnentc superficies rurales, naturales y serninarurales -Clllre,ellas los humedales, bajialc~, ~ños-- por coberturas y usos cid sudo urbano.
