What is new in this article is the deepening of hypertextuality, as a specific form of intertextuality. This article is derived from the research of the Master’s thesis in Creative Writing that is presented in the Postgraduate Unit of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the National University of San Marcos.A partir de los conceptos sobre hipertextualidad como una de las formas de la transtextualidad, planteados por Gérard Genette, se analiza la novela Concierto barroco de Alejo Carpentier, desde los textos de partida, o hipertextos, que los originaron hasta los textos de llegada o hipotextos; e incluso las melodías que también la inspiraron, mediante otra modalidad de la hipertextualidad denominada transmodalización.
