From the concepts of hypertextuality, as one of the forms of transtextuality, raised by Gérard Genette, the novel Concierto barroco by Alejo Carpentier is analyzed, from the starting texts, or hypertexts, that originated them to the arrival texts, or hypotexts; and even the melodies that also inspired through another modality of hypertextuality called transmodalization. What is new in this article is the deepening of hypertextuality, as a specific form of intertextuality. This article is derived from the research of the Master’s thesis in Creative Writing that is presented in the Postgraduate Unit of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the National University of San Marcos.

Analiza los diferentes tipos de transtextualidad en la novela de ficción histórica El cuaderno de Juana Francisca, de Ana María Hernández Guerra. Esta obra, ubicada en el siglo XVI narra la vida de una guitarrista mestiza, Juana Francisca, nativa de Nueva Cádiz de Cubagua (Venezuela), y su viaje a Sevilla, Florencia, Marsella, Santiago de Tunja (Colombia), hasta llegar, finalmente, a Caracas. Primero se definen las categorías de la transtextualidad, propuestas por Gerard Genette y Julia Kristeva con la finalidad de describir cómo funcionan dentro de la trama de la novela mencionada. También se revisan propuestas teóricas sobre la novela histórica en general, teorías literarias de la ficción y de la retórica y cómo se han empleado en la construcción de la trama.
