The district, type of dwelling, keeping of dogs and cats in the home, sex, veterinary control, home confinement and sterilization were analysed. Dog ownership represented 47.8%, cat ownership 31.5%, and mixed ownership 21.1%. The highest concentration of cats and dogs occurred in the Abancay district as compared to the Tamburco district.
