The procedures that were performed; a numerical modeling to analyze the safety factor, three granulometry laboratory tests, three exploratory boreholes without core recovery and during the excavation according to each advance geomechanical evaluations and monitoring of deformations on the excavation surface, due to lithological and structural factors unfavorable in the work area, the excavation was carried out mechanically in three stages, vault and gables.According to the results of the numerical modeling, laboratory tests and surveys that were carried out, unfavorable lithological and structural factors were identified and due to these factors, umbrella-type micropiles injected with water and cement grout were installed to guarantee the stability of the tunnel before during and after excavation.Este trabajo de investigación se basa en el problema de los suelos no consolidados, que se presentaron en la zona de excavación del túnel de salida de descarga de 60 metros de longitud, considerado el más crítico de la obra por el tipo de terreno y debido a que la excavación se realizó por debajo de la carretera Interoceánica con coberturas de encampane de 4.20 a 13.70 metros aproximadamente. Los procedimientos que se realizaron fueron: un modelamiento numérico para analizar el factor de seguridad, tres ensayos de laboratorio de granulometría y tres sondeos exploratorios sin recuperación de testigos. Durante la excavación, según el avance, se realizaron evaluaciones geomecánicas y monitoreo de deformaciones en la superficie de la excavación. Debido a los factores litológicos y estructurales desfavorables de la zona de trabajo, la excavación se realizó en forma mecánica en tres etapas, bóveda y hastiales.
