To evaluate the impact of the international accreditation process at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos’s Faculty of Dentistry was the purpose of the investigation. Methodology: The study was descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective. The sample was made up by 307 (of 450) students randomly selected. The data collection was obtained by a questionnaire survey. Chi square test (SPSS 20) was applied. The results showed that the level of student’s satisfaction related to accreditation process was regular to good (37.1% and 51.3%). About the dimensions of coherence of the achievements the purposes: relevance, integrity and effectiveness were considered as good 74.9% (p = 0.004); about the availability, efficiency and effectiveness of resources as regular 50.2% and good 34.2% (p = 0.00); with regard to changes in the process: mode of operation of the organizational structures and administrative procedures as good with 54.7% (p = 0.00) and changes in the academic process as good with 58.9% (p = 0.00). Conclusions: Students perceived that the impact after the accreditation in relation to the coherence of the achievements for the purposes of the Dentistry career and, the changes in the academic processes were predominantly good, in all years of study, except in the availability, efficiency and effectiveness of resources that were considered as fair. The level of satisfaction regarding to accreditation was ‘good’. |

The level of satisfaction regarding to accreditation was ‘good’.El propósito del estudio fue evaluar el impacto del proceso de acreditación internacional de la carrera de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). El tipo de estudio fue descriptivo, tranversal y retrospectivo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 307 estudiantes seleccionados aleatoriamente del total de 390 estudiantes (79%). La recolección de datos se obtuvo mediante encuesta con un cuestionario elaborado y validado para tal fin. Se aplicó la prueba de Chi cuadrado (SPSS 20).En la Parte I, se abordó la percepción de los estudiantes. Los resultados muestran que el nivel de satisfacción de los estudiantes respecto a la acreditación es de regular a bueno (37.1% y 51.3%). En relación a las dimensiones de coherencia de los logros con los fines: relevancia, integridad y efectividad es considerado como bueno 74.9%; sobre la disponibilidad, eficiencia y eficacia de los recursos como regular 50.2% y bueno 34.2%; respecto a los cambios en el proceso: modo de operar de las estructuras organizacionales y procedimientos administrativos como bueno con 54.7% y a los cambios en el proceso académico como bueno con 58.9%. Conclusiones: Los estudiantes perciben que el impacto después de la acreditación en relación a la coherencia de los logros con los fines de la carrera de Odontología y de los cambios en los procesos académicos es predominantemente bueno, en todos los años de estudios, excepto en la disponibilidad, eficiencia y eficacia de los recursos que son considerados como regular.
