When analyzing Chapter VIII of the Act which states the powers of Teachers, Article 84 states that the maximum age to practice teaching in a public university is seventy. Those who exceed this age limit may only exercise the extraordinary teaching and teachers. It also prevents them from exercising any administrative office (1). And the extraordinary teachers (emeritus, fees and the like) may not exceed 10% of the total number of teachers of the chair in the respective semester.El año pasado se aprobó la Ley N° 30220 que establece parámetros para mejorar la educación superior universitaria. Ella ha generado preocupación en la plana docente y estudiantes de medicina de nuestra Facultad. Al analizar el capítulo VIII de dicha ley que manifiesta las facultades del Docente, el artículo 84 señala que la edad máxima para ejercer docencia en una universidad pública es setenta años. Aquellos que superen este límite de edad solo podrán ejercer la docencia como docentes extraordinarios. Además, les impide el ejercicio de algún cargo administrativo (1).
