By the 19th century, a new conception of recovering the “body” as a representation of the human being, the one that feels and is conscious of being in this world, arises. Also, the body is revalued from its expressiveness and communicability through movement. The dancing bodies configure a discourse about what they experience. This approach considers the dancing body as a way of perceiving and being perceived through language. This would make possible an approach to what is understood by the body within the spheres of philosophy, dance and linguistics.Este artículo aborda la noción del cuerpo como manifestación de expresión corporal y lingüística. Se analiza al cuerpo desde las fenomenologías de Husserl y de Merleau-Ponty, y el enfoque dancístico occidental. Para el siglo XIX, surge una nueva concepción de recuperar el “cuerpo” como representación del ser humano, aquel que siente y es consciente del estar en este mundo. También, el cuerpo es revalorado desde su expresividad y comunicabilidad a través del movimiento. Los cuerpos danzantes configuran un discurso sobre lo que vivencian. Este planteamiento considera el cuerpo que danza como forma de percibir y ser percibido desde el lenguaje.
