| Sumario: | The gingival phenotype has a direct relationship with the survival of the dental implant and the maintenance of periodontal health. In the present clinical case, a dental implant with an autologous free connective tissue graft was installed in order to improve the thin gingival phenotype that the case presented. The lateral palate was chosen as the donor area because it provides clinical results similar to the tuberosity, but it is the one with the best availability. The de-epithelialized free connective graft surgical technique chosen for the donor area provides a denser, more stable tissue with less contraction, as shown in the clinical case with a 13-month follow-up. According to the clinical case and the scientific bases consulted, it can be concluded that the simultaneous treatment of dental implants and the improvement of the gingival phenotype contributes to a more favorable peri-implant health, contributing to a significantly lower marginal bone loss. |
