Geographical, political and administrative conditions are described with informative tables based on the most recent statistics.El presente trabajo es un diagnóstico de la realidad puneña que destaca las condiciones de pobreza en la que vive el 80,4% de los habitantes, pese a la mejoría de ciertos indicadores a lo largo de los últimos 40 años en aspectos como el alfabetismo y el nivel educativo. La agricultura sigue siendo la principal actividad económica de los puneños, le siguen los servicios.
