The PP2 was focused in providing a solution to the slum spaces, taking as an experimental area four blocks of the Monumental Zone of Barranco (Lima - Peru). That will be the basis of a National Housing Rehabilitation Policy, through a comprehensive and multidisciplinary and innovative vision for its time. Despite not being fully executed, these characteristics have placed as the genesis of the Urban Regeneration processes of Peru mainly due to the management model in its social, economic, legal and planning dimensions.El Proyecto Piloto de Renovación y Rehabilitación Urbana (PP2) fue desarrollado desde 1969 hasta 1976 y formó parte del Proyecto Experimental de Vivienda (Previ), el cual fue apoyado por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas. El PP2 buscó dar solución a los espacios tugurizados, tomando como área experimental cuatro manzanas de la Zona Monumental de Barranco (Lima, Perú). Ello sería la base de una Política Nacional de Rehabilitación de Vivienda, a través de una visión integral, multidisciplinaria e innovadora para su época.
