Presidentialism has become personalism, leading to the Parliament losing power and affecting the stability of political parties.El presente trabajo analiza el actual sistema de elecciones presidenciales en el Perú, adoptado desde la Constitución Política de 1979 y mantenido por la Constitución Política de 1993. Destacaque la instauración del sistema presidencial con mayoría absoluta y con doble vuelta ha afectado la democracia evitando su desarrollo con base en los valores del capital social.
