This study had a positivist paradigm, quantitative approach, descriptive level, basic type and non-experimental, correlational and transversal design. Therefore, the sample consisted of 100 primary school students. The Cheek and Buss Revised Shyness Scale and the Mc Daniel Piers Self-Concept Scale for children were used as instruments.The results showed an inverse and significant relationship between the variables (Rho = -0.231, p = 0.021). At the same time, significant differences were discovered in self-concept values depending on academic degree and an inverse and significant correlation between shyness and physical self-concept.El objetivo que tuvo el presente estudio fue determinar la relación entre la timidez y el autoconcepto en infantes de educación primaria, pertenecientes a una institución educativa privada de Lima. Además, se buscó identificar cómo la timidez se relaciona con cada una de las dimensiones del autoconcepto y las diferencias significativas en los valores de timidez y autoconcepto enfunción al grado académico y género de los infantes. Este estudio fue de paradigma positivista, enfoque cuantitativo, nivel descriptivo, tipo básico y de diseño no experimental, correlacional y transversal. Por consiguiente, la muestra fue con 100 estudiantes de primaria. Se utilizaron la Escala de Timidez Revisada de Cheek y Buss y la Escala del Autoconcepto para niños McDaniel Piers como instrumentos. Los resultados mostraron una relación inversa y significativa. entre las variables (Rho = -0,231, p = 0,021).
