Through a journey to the most important milestones of knowledge in the field of psychohistory, psychobiography, and autobiographies to conclude in life stories as the central point of the theme. Life histories is a method to understand not only better the human being but to facilitate and reinforce the awareness of the importance of the first years of life with the research work of Psychoanalyst Alice Miller. In this publication, we rescue the value of pioneer studies based on life stories such as the sons of Sánchez by Oscar Lewis done in 1965 in Latin America and years later the history about Domitila in Bolivia by Viezzer in 1978. Likewise, share the power of stories worldwide and their contribution in the search for recognition of marginalized populations, in promoting inclusion, social justice and peace. Finally, an acknowledgment of the efforts of the UNIFE Women’s Observatory to disseminate life stories of women whose contributions are relevant and who have sometimes remained anonymous.El presente ensayo es una actualización sobre el tema de la narrativa al servicio de las diferentes ramas de las ciencias humanas y sociales. A través de un recorrido por los hitos más importantes en el campo de la psicohistoria, de las psicobiografias y autobiografías, concluimos que las historias de vida son un punto central del tema. Las historias de vida es un método no solo para comprender mejor al ser humano, sino también, para facilitar la comprensión e importancia de los primeros años de vida considerando el enfoque de la psicoanalista y psicohistoriadora Alice Miller (1923 – 2010). Rescatamos el valor de los estudios pioneros basados en historias de vida como lo fueron, en América Latina, Los hijos de Sánchez por Oscar Lewis (1961) y, años más tarde, la historia de Domitila Barrios de Chungara, en Si me permiten hablar de Moema Viezzer (1978). Con el deseo de compartir el poder de las historias a nivel mundial y su contribución en la búsqueda de reconocimiento de las poblaciones marginadas, para fomentar la inclusión, justicia social y paz.
