First, the primacy of the Scotist singular over the Thomist universal is exposed, manifesting the importance of thinking beyond established needs. Second, we discuss the active role of a free will as a preamble to concerted action and identifying the judgment in accordance with it. Finally, we reflect on what was covered in Scotus and Arendt about an action correctly understood and as part of a political community.El presente trabajo rastrea los vínculos entre los conceptos de juicio y acción concertada en Hannah Arendt y lo que la autora analiza sobre la voluntad en Duns Escoto. En estos vínculos se demuestra que es en los postulados del Doctor Sutil donde encontramos un fundamento remoto para dichos conceptos. Primero, se expone la primacía de lo singular escotista frente a lo universal tomista, manifestando la importancia del pensar más allá de necesidades establecidas. Segundo, se discute en torno al rol activo de una voluntad libre como preámbulo de la acción concertada, e identificando el juicio acorde con ella.
