This system has issued various decisions establishing the liability of states for the violation of women’s human rights. Likewise, it has issued recommendations to the states on measures to better protect women and to not incur in this type of violence against them.El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la problemática existente de la violencia obstétrica vinculada a la violencia de género que se ejerce contra la mujer durante el proceso del embarazo y el parto. Para tal efecto, se examinará diferentes casos internacionales vistos a nivel del Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos y del cual se han dictado diversos pronunciamientos estableciendo la responsabilidad de los estados por la violación de los derechos humanos de las mujeres.
