Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this study is to show the influence of the characteristics and properties of aggregates extracted from different sources, specifically from the quarries of the Ichu river basin and the quarries of the Mantaro river basin. At the same time, how they affect concrete strength. At the same time, to understand the properties of the aggregates. The mechanical properties of fine aggregate (coarse sand) and coarse aggregate (crushed stone) from both quarries were evaluated according to ASMC 33 and NTP 400.037. Tests were carried out on 90 cylindrical sample units (45 cylindrical samples for aggregates from the Ichu River basin and 45 cylindrical samples for aggregates from the Mantaro River basin). The mix was calculated for the strengths: f'c = 175 kg/cm2, f'c = 210 kg/cm2 and f'c = 245 kg/cm2 using the ACI 211 method. Various tests were carried out in the quarries examined. The samples were hardened by immersion in water under laboratory conditions and the compressive strength at the age of 28 days was calculated according to ASTM C 39 or NTP 339.034. It was concluded that, at the age of 28 days, the samples made with aggregates from the Mantaro river basin achieved higher resistance than the samples made with aggregates from the Ichu river basin. A statistical test shows that all treatments are different. The quarries of the Mantaro and Ichu rivers and the mix design (175, 210 and 245 kg/cm2) are factors that influence the strength of the concrete.
