González (2011) states that learning theories are aware that all research must have logical coherence. We define the general objective of our research as follows: to establish the philosophical perspective of mathematics as a fundamental component of science and as an object of scientific research. Later on, we determine the type of research, which was fundamental or basic. Our purpose is to deepen and expand knowledge about the epistemology of mathematics and mathematics as the foundation of science. Near the end of the study, we arrive at the following result: Mathematics is the foundation of science because it is the language of nature and the cosmos. Both are expressed only through mathematics, and measurement is a basic factor in the construction of scientific knowledge, the discovery of new theories and laws, and it also constitutes an object of scientific research. Finally, we conclude that mathematics is the foundation of science, primarily for natural sciences and to a lesser extent for social sciences. Philosophy has a reflexive relationship with mathematics, and mathematics, from an epistemological perspective, constitutes an object of scientific research.
