The data collection instruments were the Heinz Leymann questionnaire and the Gonzalez de Rivera stress reactivity index (SRI) test, after reliability validation. Spearman's Rho test was applied in the inferential analysis. In addition, ethical aspects were taken into consideration. Results. 82.5 % (52) of the sample showed evidence of mobbing by their respective line managers at a mild level; 74.6 % (47) had a low level of stress. When analyzing the correlation between the variables, mobbing by line managers and nursing staff stress, a moderate correlation was found [(Rho = 0.608), (p = 0.000)]. Conclusions. There is a correlation between line managers mobbing and stress in the nursing staff under study.Objetivo. Determinar la correlación del mobbing de los jefes inmediatos y el estrés del personal de enfermería del Centro Quirúrgico y Servicio de Neonatología del Hospital de Contingencia Hermilio Valdizán Medrano, Huánuco, 2019. Métodos. La investigación tuvo enfoque cuantitativo y fue de tipo observacional, analítico y trasversal. Los instrumentos de recolección de datos fueron el cuestionario de Heinz Leymann y el test de índice de reactividad al estrés (IRE) de González de Rivera, previa validación de fiabilidad. En el análisis inferencial se aplicó la prueba Rho de Spearman. Además, se tuvieron en consideración los aspectos éticos. Resultados. El 82,5 % (52) de la muestra evidenció mobbing por sus respectivos jefes de nivel leve; el 74,6 % (47) tuvieron un bajo nivel de estrés. Al analizar la correlación entre las variables, mobbing de los jefes inmediatos y el estrés del personal de enfermería, se halló una correlación moderada [(Rho = 0,608), (p = 0,000)]. Conclusiones.
