With a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional non-experimental design and correlational scope. The parenting styles scale and the emotional regulation questionnaire were applied. The results indicate that the parenting style that most predominates among adolescents is the authoritative one, with 201 participants, followed by the mixed one with 32, the permissive one with 21, the authoritarian one with 11 and the negligent one with 2. Likewise, 44.6% of Schoolchildren present a medium level of emotional regulation. Furthermore, it was observed that greater psychological autonomy is related to better emotional self-regulation strategies. This confirms that there is a relationship between both variables and allows us to specify that an adequate parenting style is associated with higher levels of emotional regulation.Esta investigación tuvo como propósito establecer relación entre los estilos de crianza y regulación emocional evaluando a 267 adolescentes de 13 a 19 años de secundaria en un centro educativo del distrito de Villa el Salvador, Lima. Con un enfoque cuantitativo con diseño no experimental transversal y alcance correlacional. Se aplicó la escala de estilos de crianza y el cuestionario de regulación emocional. Los resultados indican que el estilo de crianza que más predomina entre los adolescentes es el autoritativo, con 201 participantes, seguido por el mixto con 32, el permisivo con 21, el autoritario con 11 y el negligente con 2. Asimismo, el 44.6% de los escolares presentan un nivel medio de regulación emocional. Además, se observó que una mayor autonomía psicológica está relacionada con mejores estrategias de autorregulación emocional.
