It is raised the following hypothesis there is significant relationship between knowledge and the practice of nurses on the benefits of the Kangaroo Mother Method in the Neonatology Service of Sergio E. Bernales Hospital in commas - Lima 2012. The population was 25 nurses working at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the applied sampling is not random, and by the accessibility is considered all the nurses that there is in the population. The results show that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and the practices of nurses related to the guidance given to the patient on the early stimulation of prematurity with the Kangaroo Mother Method in the Neonatology Service of Sergio E. Bernales Hospital in Comas - Lima. The limitations were economic since it was settled by the author, as well as the existence of few professionals with the time available to provide the information and scant bibliography on the topic.El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo determinar el grado de relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento y prácticas de las enfermeras sobre los beneficios del método madre canguro en el servicio de neonatología del Hospital Sergio Bernales de Enero a Diciembre del 2012, para lo cual se aplicó un diseño descriptivo correlacional, para describir y asociar el conocimiento de control y prácticas de las enfermeras sobre los beneficios del método madre canguro. Planteándose la siguiente hipótesis Existe relación significativa entre el conocimiento y la práctica de las enfermeras sobre los beneficios del método Madre Canguro en el Servicio de Neonatología del Hospital Sergio E. Bernales de Comas - Lima 2012. La población accesible estuvo compuesta por 25 enfermeras que laboran en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales, el muestreo aplicado es no aleatorio, y por la accesibilidad se consideraron todas las enfermeras que se tiene en la población. Los resultados muestran que hay relación significativa entre conocimiento y las prácticas de las enfermeras en cuanto a la orientación que dan a la paciente sobre la estimulación temprana del prematuro con el método Madre Canguro en el Servicio de Neonatología del Hospital Sergio E. Bernales de Comas Lima.
