For this, the individual valuation method was used through the selection criteria for seed trees, estimating their phenotypic characteristics and measures of dasometric variables: total height, DBH measurement, crown symmetry, flowering percentage, fruiting percentage, germination percentage and good phytosanitary status; evaluating the reproductive potential by analyzing the physical quality of seed through the ISTA standards (2016). Fifty-nine potential individuals were identified in an area of 0.98 km2, selecting 17 trees for seedlings that met the selection criteria: straight stem, symmetrical crown, flowering greater than 80% of its crown, abundant fruit, good phytosanitary status of the individual and of the seeds. The reproductive potential was 67 seeds per fruit on average, 18 fruits on the branch, 502 total fruits on the branch/tree on average and an average seed production per tree of 1262. An average seed purity of 82.22%, moisture content of 16.56% and germination percentage of 99.06% were obtained. La presente investigación consistió en seleccionar árboles semilleros de Cinchona officinalis L., en la zona de amortiguamiento del Bosque de Protección de Pagaibamba, centros poblados de San Luis y Paraguay, distrito de Querocoto, provincia de Chota departamento de Cajamarca. Para ello, se utilizó el método de valoración individual a través de los criterios de selección para árboles semilleros, estimando sus características fenotípicas y las medidas de variables dasométricas: altura total, medida del DAP, simetría de copa, porcentaje de floración, porcentaje de fructificación, porcentaje de germinación y buen estado fitosanitario; evaluando el potencial reproductivo analizando la calidad física de semilla a través de las normas ISTA (2016). Se identificaron 59 individuos potenciales en un área de 0.98 km2, seleccionando 17 árboles semilleros, los cuales cumplen los criterios de selección: fuste recto, copa simétrica, floración mayor a 80% con respecto a su copa, frutos abundantes, buen estado fitosanitario del individuo y de las semillas. Presentando un potencial reproductivo, de 67 semillas por fruto en promedio,18 frutos en la rama, 502 frutos totales en rama/árbol promedio y una producción de semillas por árbol promedio de 1262.
