Transportation facing the challenge of the energy transition in Peru towards 2050

Descripción del Articulo

Transportation is the sector that has contributed the most to the generation of greenhouse gases (GHG) in Peru, representing 40% of energy-related emissions. For this purpose, it is necessary to promote the energy transition as a process to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and increase the use of renewable energy resources (RER) in this sector. The challenge consists in electrification, and in an electrical matrix based mainly on the RERs. Therefore, the objective of this research has been to analyze the energy policies of the main Peruvian public entities related to the environment, energy and transportation, in order to evaluate the level of progress on the energy transition goals for transportation. As a conclusion, it has been identified that, although there are estimations of national energy consumption and supported future projections, the documents do not contain in detail the elements required for an accurate diagnosis, planning, strategy, goals and monitoring indicators for the energy transition of transportation. Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina2022-12-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmlhttps://revistas.lamolina.edu.pe/index.php/ne/article/view/211510.21704/ne.v7i2.2115Natura@economía; Vol. 7 Núm. 2 (2022): Julio a Diciembre; 131-148Natura@economía; Vol. 7 No. 2 (2022): July to December; 131-1482226-9479reponame:Revistas - Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molinainstname:Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molinainstacron:UNALMspahttps://revistas.lamolina.edu.pe/index.php/ne/article/view/2115/2971https://revistas.lamolina.edu.pe/index.php/ne/article/view/2115/2972Derechos de autor 2022 Edward Santa María Dávila, Marck Regalado Espinozahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessoai:revistas.lamolina.edu.pe:article/21152025-07-02T16:40:20Z
