description The objective of the research is to analyze the work stress of teachers of the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic School Education (EEB) in Paraguay. The methodology used was descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional, applying a questionnaire to 75 teachers from official educational institutions in the city of Encarnación. The results show that teachers present an average level of work stress, taking into account the dimensions, the average level is presented in emotional exhaustion and personal fulfillment for teachers of both sexes, but not in depersonalization. The presence of work stress occurs at different levels in relation to demographic variables such as age, years of experience in teaching, shift in which he teaches, and the location of the institution, be it urban or rural, where he teaches. The study is concluded by highlighting the need to have comprehensive programs that provide permanent support to teachers and generate control alternatives over their work and labor demands; in order to prevent adverse effects on the health of the professional.

La metodología utilizada fue descriptiva, cuantitativa de corte transversal, aplicando un cuestionario a 75 docentes de instituciones educativas oficiales de la ciudad de Encarnación. Los resultados muestran que los docentes presentan un nivel medio de estrés laboral. Teniendo en cuenta las dimensiones se presenta el nivel medio en el agotamiento emocional y la realización personal para docentes de ambos sexos, no así en la despersonalización.La presencia del estrés laboral se presenta en diferentes niveles en cuanto a las variables demográficas como: edad, años de experiencia en la docencia, turno en el que enseña y la ubicación de la institución, zona urbana o rural, donde enseña. Se concluye el estudio destacando la necesidad de contar con programas integrales, que brinden acompañamiento permanente al profesorado y generen alternativas de control sobre su trabajo y las demandas laborales; a fin de prevenir efectos adversos en la salud del profesional.O objetivo da pesquisa é analisar o estresse laboral dos professores do 1º e 2º ciclos da Educação Básica (EEB) no Paraguai. A metodologia utilizada foi descritiva, quantitativa, transversal, aplicando um questionário a 75 professores de instituições oficiais de ensino da cidade de Encarnación. Os resultados mostram que os professores apresentam um nível médio de stress laboral, tendo em conta as dimensões, o nível médio apresenta-se no esgotamento emocional e na realização pessoal para professores de ambos os sexos, mas não na despersonalização. A presença do estresse laboral ocorre em diferentes níveis em relação a variáveis demográficas como idade, anos de experiência na docência, turno em que leciona e localização da instituição, se urbana ou rural, onde leciona.
